About one year after its initial vinyl release through Blasphlegmy and Crypt of Wizard, this glorious heavy metal album will receive its well-deserved CD edition. 8 years after their debut album, internationally acclaimed NATUR with celebrated gigs at festivals such as Live Evil in London or Muskelrock in Sweden, shows with Afternoon Nightmare once again that this band can stay rather low key in these modern times, yet deliver awesome, ancient sounding heavy metal without slipping into any clichés. Fav: Burceau. Trad metal is like Sabbathian stoner; everyone loves it so much that there are a billion bands devoted to it, and that means a lot of samey. You really need some spice to stand out. Herzel have that spicy secret sauce. Everyone can do a galloping line, but is it adventurous? Unexpected melodic turns like turning a cobbled street corner to see a mighty vista? Soaring lines that stir your blood? Extra points for whatever that horn/brass instrument was, it fit right in. Hail Herzel!
